On March 3, I set off with several volunteers to make human and animal encounters that would enable us to bring 18 dogs to safety, including 5 senior dogs over 10 years old. There were several challenges: mobilizing volunteers to drive over 9 hours round-trip on icy roads, administering vaccines at -20 degrees Celsius and, above all, placing so many rescues.

It also took me back 4 1/2 years when, on August 22, 2020, we were also out in the field transferring needy dogs to this same community. Why this trip down memory lane?

Because every intervention touches us differently! Because for that previous rescue, I was teamed up with my sister, brother-in-law and precious friends. Because that moment was marked by the announcement of brain cancer for the sister of one of our friends who was present at the time, and because it was also marked by my last field intervention with a blood “family”.

For several years now, Chiots Nordiques has been my second family, my anchor, my balance! I keep this balance thanks to these moments that are marked by beauty, sometimes tears, but above all by beautiful achievements. I have the honor of sharing these actions with extraordinary people, and doing it as a family makes it even more personal. I often bite my fingers when I think of how lucky I've been for so many years.

I wish everyone a “Puppies Nordiques”!
