In the Chiots Nordiques Family: A Volunteer’s Story

Soon it will be the end of November, and the beginning of the last month of the year. 2025 has been full of upheavals… but also filled with a true light: Chiots Nordiques.
I am not neglecting my blood family in any way, and their support is invaluable to me. But right now, I especially want to thank Chiots Nordiques for being in my life, in the lives of the dogs, and in those of the Indigenous communities in Québec.
I’ve been deeply involved since the summer of 2023, and those who know me are well aware of it. It’s a major part of my everyday life, a commitment that goes beyond hours and kilometers. There’s no need to list everything: what I experience there, what I give, and especially what I receive — it’s indescribable.
The clinics, like the one in Lac-Simon last weekend, start fast, the nights are short, and from the very first hour, you’re already dirty, already immersed in a thousand emotions. There are very low moments, others incredibly high, and always this resilience that settles in without us even noticing.
We see familiar faces from clinic to clinic, and we meet new ones who quickly become part of the large Chiots Nordiques family. Every person is a human highlight. I feel truly privileged to be part of a group so genuine, so generous, so incredible.
What I take from all this is that life sometimes has a funny way of reminding us that we are exactly where we’re meant to be.
