🐶General description

"Hello friends! Let me introduce myself, Kauitshitshitehemut, Kamut to my friends. I'm the excellent mom of the eight beauties published yesterday. Now it's my turn to find a family of my own. I'm a very GENTLE, AFFECTUAL dog who loves to be close to my human and receive attention. I'm a lady who likes routine, as it makes me feel more confident. When I meet new humans, I put my paws gently on them to get to know them and give them the opportunity to scratch me behind the ears! I have a moderate energy level.

🐕🐈👶Cohabitation

I'm currently cohabiting with 3 dogs, all bigger than me, as well as my brood. After good introductions, everything is going well with the new dogs. I've even started playing with them! I'm very respectful of canine language, and I'm happy to share my cushions with them. I could live with a canine friend, but I'd be just as happy to have all the human attention just for me! I haven't been around cats, but cohabitation is NOT possible because of my predatory instincts.  I could live with young teenagers who respect my needs, but not with young children, since their screams and sudden movements scare me a bit.

🏡Inside

In the house, I'm free and I behave very well. My host family taught me not to climb on the armchairs or beds and I respect the instructions very well. I love to rest and sleep on a big dog cushion. I'm very expressive and like to talk to you softly. When my humans are away, I now behave well with the other dogs, who set a good example for me. It's possible that in my new family, I'll be less comfortable with solitude at first. I'll have to get used to being alone gradually. Since I don't tolerate being cooped up, cages and pens are not recommended for me. I'm house-trained, but I need to be taken out regularly, as my signals are subtle. I don't really like to relieve myself on walks. I prefer the comfort of my own backyard! I'm familiar with “sit and paw”. I can easily learn other commands with a good treat. I'm very smart and a quick learner. Once I understand what's expected of me, I follow instructions well.

🦴I like chicken food, but much less fish. I currently eat three times a day since I need to regain my strength after breastfeeding my eight babies! I'll soon be able to switch to two meals a day. I'm currently eating in isolation from the other dogs, so I don't head for their bowls. I love to nibble bones and dental treats. I prefer to chew away from the other dogs. I love licking bowls, but give up easily if it becomes too difficult.

🌳Outdoors

Currently, I have access to a large fenced enclosure where I go out with my canine friends. I mustn't be left alone unsupervised outside, as I'm capable of digging under fences or jumping the fence. I have a good predatory instinct, so I could go chasing after a small animal. So my future family will need to have a secure yard or enclosure for me. I'd be more at home in a quiet suburb or semi-rural setting, as city noises still scare me a little. At present, I walk twice a day for a total of 4 to 5 km a day. I walk quite well on a leash, until I come across small animals! Then I start pulling hard. I have to wear a well-fitting harness, as I don't like the leash attached to my collar. When I meet dogs, I get excited and need the introductions to be gradual. Besides, dog parks would not be a place I'd enjoy.

🚗Transport and handling

For the moment, I'm not jumping into the car by myself, preferring to be picked up and dropped off. Once properly strapped in on the back seat, everything goes very smoothly. However, as soon as the car door opens, I try to get out quickly. When it comes to handling, I love being brushed and scratched behind the ears. Claw trimming can be done gradually. Once I'm confident, I work hard to stay still. I haven't had a bath yet, only a dry shampoo.

I would be an excellent AFFECTUAL companion for a PRESENT and GENTLE family living in a rather calm environment. If you give us time to develop a bond of trust, you'll find me a LOYAL bitch."
