🐶 General Description
“Hi, my name is Juak! I’m already a big, handsome, large dog! I still think I’m a tiny puppy and would love to always curl up comfortably on my humans’ laps. I’m a young pup bursting with energy. Do you love the outdoors and adventure? I’d make a great companion. I’m looking for a family ready to guide me. I have a strong personality that you’ll need to help shape in the right direction. I still have many things to learn.
🐕🐈👶 Living With Others
I adore humans and I’m very social with everyone I’ve met. I love getting their attention, and after burning off my energy, I enjoy resting close to them. I could live with teenagers who are experienced with large, energetic dogs, as I might accidentally bump into smaller children due to my enthusiasm. I currently live with other dogs and am learning to understand and respect canine communication. That said, my boundless energy isn’t appreciated by all of my companions—I can be a bit pushy and persistent during play. On the other hand, if another dog becomes too invasive with me, I can show signs of discomfort. I believe I could also thrive as the only dog in the household, enjoying all of my humans’ attention. I have met a cat that was very accustomed to dogs, but I was far too interested in chasing it. For this reason, I will not be placed with small animals.
🏡 Indoors
So far, I sleep well through the night, either in my playpen or crate. When my humans leave, I stay in my crate to prevent puppy mischief. I will need to learn to be alone, as I use my voice a lot to ask for company and attention—apartment or condo living is therefore not suitable for me. I eventually settle calmly in my crate, but I do protest my freedom during the first few minutes. Training will need to continue hand in paw. As for house training, I’m truly a champion, even over longer periods. If I need to go outside, I’ll let you know, and I never have accidents at night. I know the commands “sit,” “down,” and my name. I walk fairly well on a leash and have a decent recall, but this will need further work with my future family.
🦴 Food & Chewing
I’m a big foodie with a bottomless appetite. I’d do many things for food—if you leave it out and it disappears, I might be the thief! Since there are other dogs in my foster home, I’m fed in my crate and everything goes smoothly. I like having my own space while eating. When I first arrived, I thought all the other dogs wanted to steal my toys; now I understand play better. Like any self-respecting puppy, I have a very strong need to chew, so I’ll need plenty of bones and chew toys to keep me busy.
🌳 Outdoors
I love being outside, sniffing the breeze and staying outdoors as long as possible. I’m a big explorer, so a securely fenced yard or constant supervision outside is essential—otherwise, I’ll head off on an adventure! As mentioned above, I have a strong prey drive and love using my nose. I think I’d be excellent at tracking, search, or detection activities. I’ve also gone “shopping” and loved it! I have the potential to become a great athlete, and I think a harness sport would suit me well. Shall we sign up together? I respect the leash well when communication is clear. I’m not fearful—I have a “strong” head, I observe a lot, and I like making my own decisions. That’s why it’s best for my future family to guide me in the right direction, without letting me decide everything.
🚗 Transport & Handling
I’m a great co-pilot in the car and have mostly traveled in a crate. I enjoy going on adventures and accompanying my humans. When it comes to handling, I’m excellent for nail trimming, ear cleaning, brushing, and even vet visits. I haven’t had a bath yet, so I’ll need to get used to that.
💚 In Summary
I’m looking for an experienced, present, and active family. I’m ready to learn many things and to grow in a well-structured and consistent environment. Living with teenagers? That works for me. Living with a canine buddy who can handle my energy level? That works too! An active lifestyle, a clear routine, and good guidance—those are what will make me the best companion you could find!”
