🐶General description

"Hello, my name is Belle, which suits me very well according to my foster family! I am a dog full of energy for outings and playtime, but I also love taking long naps. I am very well-balanced! I am a little fearful of new experiences, but I am gaining confidence every day.

🐕🐈👶Living with others

I currently live with a large adult dog, whom I was shy and even fearful of at first. After a period of adjustment, I now like him very much and even enjoy playing with him. We share our toys and sometimes even sleep together. I am indifferent to the dogs I meet on walks. I live with a cat, whom I do NOT prey on. I try to kiss and play with him, but he ignores me! So I respect his boundaries. I haven't met any children, but I think I would adapt well to older children who don't make sudden movements. I love my humans, I tend to follow them around and stay close to them.

🏡Inside

When I arrived, I was given my own room to quarantine and relax. I then began to explore the house little by little, but I often returned to my room to feel safe. Now, I am free to roam the house. I sleep with my canine friend on a rug, or alone when he is not around. I am house-trained and don't make a mess. Since my humans work from home, I can alternate between nice naps inside or outside in the backyard. I am not afraid of loud noises in the house, such as the vacuum cleaner and the saw. I recently started learning basic commands. Since food is a huge motivator for me, I am progressing quickly.

🦴I'm a little glutton and could eat anything! I eat in a separate room since my canine friend doesn't like to share. For my part, I have NOT shown any signs of resource guarding. I love to chew, so I hope to have access to lots of different items in my future family!

🌳Outdoors

I currently have access to a secure fenced yard. This is a must for me, as I might be tempted to run away if the opportunity arises. I enjoy spending time outside playing or even sleeping on the patio. I sometimes bark when neighborhood dogs bark or if I see squirrels. I have good recall in the yard and come back when my human whistles or calls my name. I dig a little, but not too much. When we go for walks, I don't pull on the leash because I prefer to sniff everything in my path. However, if there are squirrels, I will pull! I am small, so I am easy to handle.

🚗Transportation and handling

I have been in the car a few times, and although it is not my favorite thing, I am able to stay calm. When it comes to handling, I usually let people do what they want, but I still need to learn to be calm when getting my nails trimmed.
